NASDA Seminar

Want to get smarter before the next NASDA trial? A North American Sport Dog Association (NASDA) seminar will be presented on Thursday 18 November at SchaSam Farm. This will be an approximate two hour seminar ffor handlers followed by a short “paws on” session with both teammates (dog and handler) and will cover the more advanced aspects of NASDA work such as how terrain, wind direction, humidity, objects in the search area, handler and dog motion/movement affect scent patterns. We will also cover start line procedures, long line handling, dog body language during scenting, and how a handler can assist their dog in the search. We will conclude with an open Q&A session to answer any questions you might have about this exciting sport of "real world" scent work. Jessica Clough, NASDA judge, will host the seminar here at SchaSam Farm from 9am to 11am with a Q&A session after. Location (in the master rat ring or outside) is weather dependent. Cost will be $75 payable at the seminar. This seminar is for humans only, but we welcome dogs in the “paws on” session to ensure the points covered make it from the mind to the other end of the leash. As always the off leash area will be available and the parking area may be used to do some shed dog or lost article find practice at the Farm.

As of 14 November - 5 working spots still available. (Sam, Lizzy, Laurie, Michael V, Perry, Taryn, Candy)

RSVP to Sam at SchaSamFarm@yahoo.com to reserve a slot or for any questions.
