Come play with your dog!

The SchaSam Agility Group (SAG) is comprised of teams of all levels of experience who either train at SchaSam or put on our trials. We hosted seven North American Agility Council (NADAC) trials in 2022 as well as a very successful (over 9.6K raised) NADAC agility trial in December as a fund raiser for Toys for Tots. Our trials are held both indoors (March & Dec) at the fabulous Fun Fur Paws (FFP) arena on Starbird Place in Mount Vernon and outdoors on grass at the SchaSam Agility Group’s field at SchaSam Farm in Stanwood. Our field trials are normally run Friday afternoon through Sunday and average 600 runs for the weekend. Our arena trials are normally run Saturday & Sunday and average 800 runs. We love small trials where teams run up to 8 times a day in the double run format. We award High in Trial awards at the end of each trial based on qualifying runs and run index (speed). We award HITs for Intro, Novice, Open, Elite and Elite Vet Dog, as well as for Junior and Senior Handlers if they meet the SAG HIT criteria.

1) The human has volunteered during the trial and is present for the presentation (unless emergency situation has arisen, then someone else can receive) 2) The team competed in at least ten runs over a 3 day trial, eight runs over a two day trial if the team is at Novice, Open or Elite.  If Intro then the team must have competed in at least four runs in a trial (three or two day trials).  3) The dog is in the appropriate level – for example - A dog with a NATCH is not eligible for Open/Novice/Intro. 4) A dog who is known to be running in a higher level in another venue is not eligible for a lower level HIT from SAG NADAC.

High in Trial Awards are presented by the Trial Chair and the Judge(s) before Elite walks the final course of the last day of the trial.

We are a social group - most of our trials have a crazy team game after the trial on Saturday followed by a pot luck meal or social time that evening. RV’s are welcome at both sites with a minimal payment at FFPs and $10 a night or FREE at SchaSam if you volunteer at least two classes. Both of these trial sites have fully fenced off leash areas and are well maintained. SchaSam Farm’s field is fully lit for night work/play. FFPs parking is next to the grass field and crating is out of your vehicle. SchaSam parking area is on grass and has large trees for shade in the summer in both the parking area and the crating/viewing area. We think we have the best two locations in the Pacific Northwest to hold our small, fun, low-stress trials. Trials for 2023 for March and the December will be at the Fun Fur Paws indoor arena, and in the months of May, June, July, August and September at SchaSam Farm with the September trial being our Toys for Tots Fund Raiser trial. Each trial has a theme - the August Puppy Pool Party saw a hilarious after hours relay race with squirt guns, floaties and palm trees! Dates and other information about each trial can be found on the events page. Click here for agility site map at SchaSam.
